Some 40 students were detained when the Regional Police Command raided the Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School in the Ashanti Region yesterday, Sunday, January 22, to defend government buildings being vandalized by wild, and the rioting students. Before the 40 were detained, the rioting students had already flipped a teacher’s salon car upside down, broken its windows, and made all efforts to set it on fire. THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command is hunting for the person who brutally attacked a 32-year-old man in the Ashanti Region’s Nkawie Panin. According to reports, the victim, Ali Dawuda, was charged with stealing the suspect’s bunch of plantains, which the police only identified as Boakye. At about 6:30 p.m on Saturday, an enraged-looking Boakye invaded Dawuda’s residence and, without warning, began butchering him with a sharp machete. From 1997 until 2001, he served as the president of Ghana’s football regulating body. The man who fatally stabbed a musician from Cape Coast in February 2021 has been given the death penalty by hanging. Bright Ellis, also known in Cape Coast as Shadow, was found guilty and given a death sentence on Wednesday (January 18, 2023) by the Cape Coast High Court, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Lodoh. Following a bus collision with an immobilized vehicle on the Kumasi-Offinso Highway, two adult males have been confirmed dead and eleven more are being treated in hospitals. A defective articulator truck with the registration number AS 1756-X was parked on the side of the road at Denase near Kodie when a KIA GranBird bus with the registration number WR 621-17 was traveling from Zebilla to Kumasi.
