Member of Parliament for Tema West constituency, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, has urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives to give newly elected flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia room to appoint his running mate for the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.
After a hotly contested primary, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was named the NPP’s chosen presidential candidate for the general elections of 2024.
Just 48 hours after Dr. Bawumia, the Vice President, was elected to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 election as its flagbearer, names of contenders have surfaced to join him in breaking the eight.
A few names have surfaced in the public sphere urging Dr. Bawumia to choose Kennedy Agyapong as his running mate in order to force a “showdown” with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
During a panel discussion on Adekye Nsroma, Mr. Carlos Ahenkorah said all NPP members must come together support and respect Dr. Bawumia’s decision on whom ever he deems fit to become his running mate just as President Nana Akufo-Addo chose him as his Vice President.
Mr. Carlos Ahenkorah suggested that Kennedy Agyapong could be the best candidate to partner with Dr. Bawumia as his running mate to help the NPP break the 8 easily, nevertheless, he added that whoever the Vice President chooses he is okay with it.
