Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen was born on September 23, 1949, in Long Branch, New Jersey, USA. He grew up in a working-class family in Freehold, New Jersey, also alongside his two younger sisters. Springsteen attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic school and later Freehold High School. His Catholic upbringing would later influence his music and lyrics.
In his early years, Springsteen played in various local bands, including The Castiles and Steel Mill. These experiences shaped his musical style and also stage presence. His third studio album, “Born to Run”, catapulted him to international fame. The title track became an anthem for a generation, capturing the spirit of youthful rebellion and longing.
