Wyatt Henry Johnston was born on May 14, 2003, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who currently plays for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Johnston was selected by the Stars in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, with the 23rd overall pick.
The Dallas Stars drafted Wyatt 23rd overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Stars in September 2021. Wyatt made his NHL debut on October 13, 2022, against the Nashville Predators, becoming the first teenager to play for the Stars since Miro Heiskanen in 2018. During the 2022–23 season, he broke the record for most goals by a teenager in Stars’ history, finishing with 24 goals and 17 assists in 82 games.
In March 2024, he scored his first career hat-trick against the San Jose Sharks. Wyatt finished his junior career with the Toronto Marlboros in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) during the 2018–19 season. He put up impressive numbers, scoring 48 goals and providing 46 assists for a total of 94 points in his final year with the team. In his rookie season with the Windsor Spitfires (2019–20), he scored his first OHL goal against the Peterborough Petes.
