Twene Jonas Slams Bongo Ideas for Attacking Afua Asantewaa on her Guinness record for longest singathon attempt.
Afua Asantewaa, a Ghanaian activist, has been trying to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual since December 24, 2023. She plans to sing for more than 117 hours, focusing on songs from Ghana, especially the highlife, hiplife, and gospel genres.
Her record attempt, however, has been contested and questioned by Bongo Ideas, a negative speech blogger, who claims she violated the Guinness World Records guidelines and regulations. He accused her of mumbling, repeating, and taking long breaks during her singathon. He also said that she was facing disqualification and that her record attempt was futile and wasteful.
These allegations triggered a heated debate on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing their opinions and reactions. Some backed Bongo Ideas and doubted Afua Asantewaa’s credibility and integrity, while others supported her and admired her courage and resilience.
Among the latter group was Twene Jonas, a popular Ghanaian social media commentator who is known for his outspokenness. In a live video on his Facebook page, Twene Jonas slammed Bongo Ideas for attacking Afua Asantewaa and trying to ruin her reputation. He called him a “hater” and a “jealous” person who was resentful of Afua Asantewaa’s achievement and fame. He urged him to stop his negative and destructive behavior and to respect and support Afua Asantewaa instead.
