As some online media outlets had initially speculated, the daughter of the Bekwai MCE was not shot. According to a Facebook post by one Erastus Asare Donkor, there have been some new discoveries.
The police have reportedly started looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of the adult female Akua Serwaa Kyei on August 3, 2023, in Atwima Bebu, Ashanti Region.
The victim was found unconscious at the back of their home on August 3, 2023, around 5:30 p.m., according to the deceased woman’s husband.
He reportedly rushed her to the hospital, where the daughter of Bekwai MCE was pronounced dead when she arrived. He also claimed that a television had been stolen and that their living room and bedroom had been looted.
However, the Police Crime Scene team’s initial evaluation of the incident scene showed that neither the house’s doors nor windows had been broken into.

Additionally, no signs of violence or a gunshot wound were discovered when the deceased body was examined at the hospital.
Since then, the body has been placed at the morgue for a preservation autopsy while the investigation is ongoing.
The police have spoken with the deceased’s family, and we are collaborating with them to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
The family has also been contacted by the Inspector-General of Police via telephone, and he has assured them that the case will be thoroughly investigated.
The family has also been given access to a police clinical psychologist to help them through these trying times.
