Two people are wanted by the Ghana Police for allegedly stealing $1,600 from a currency exchange at the Accra Mall this afternoon.

According to the victim, the two suspects entered the forex bureau pretending to exchange some currency but were able to steal some cash from the counter while the attendant was looking the other way.

The attendant went after them when he realized the money had been taken, but they got into a waiting car and drove off.

Investigations are being conducted to apprehend the alleged thieves and bring them before the law.

As this could be a new strategy used by thieves to defraud unwary people, we would like to urge the general public, especially operators of forex bureaux, to be vigilant and, where necessary, report any suspicious activities to the police.
