I was with Musa for eight years. He was my entire world. I, on the other hand, was a continent in his world. I am assigning myself a big chunk like a continent because what we had was deep and meaningful. He cared about me. I knew that. However, he didn’t love me enough to stick with only me. He had other girls on the side. Lots of them. He is handsome so the women naturally flock to him like bees to flowers. Musa didn’t have much but he knew how to make me feel loved and desired. That’s why…

She just wanted him to be in my life and contribute to my growth. I don’t know what exactly they talked about but he took me away from my mother’s family house where we lived. He told my mum that I was going to…
You see that thing people do and post on social media? The guy buys a ring and out of nowhere, goes down on one knee and asks the lady, “Would you marry me?” Yeah, that surprise proposal. I decided to do it too. Not because of social media but because I wanted to marry her for real. We had dated for eight months and I’d seen the gold in her. I wanted to make her part of my life forever so I made plans with two of her best friends to pull the proposal off on her birthday. The birthday…

Maybe it’s not God’s fault either. I am just in a place where nothing makes sense to me. Come to think of it, my life stopped making sense after I turned eleven. We were struggling back in the village. We had to scrape bits and pieces here and there to eat a decent meal. My mother tried her best for us but her strength…
When his family told him to leave me, he stood by me. They called me names because of our misfortunes but he was unmoved by their pressure. We made a vow that we would stick together for better or worse, and he was determined to stay through the worse phase of our lives. I must also say that while he was holding me together, I was also holding him together. Right from the moment we got married, my husband lost his job. He didn’t have a side business or savings to fall on. I became the sole breadwinner for our…
