THE POLICE has arrested three male suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of Yao Xian, a 52 year old Chinese miner. They are Kwadwo Mensah, aged 32, Robert Agyei, aged 29, and Abdullah Mohammed, aged 45. The trio are said to be workers of the deceased. Yao Xian, the police said, was shot in the chest by his runaway killers whilst riding a motorbike at Manso Watreso 11am on August 30. The Ghana Police Service has successfully secured convictions of five armed robbers, with some receiving sentences of up to 120 years of hard labor and one getting 105 years for dishonest receiving. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that six teachers and invigilators have been arrested for engaging in various examination malpractices during the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Speaking to JoyNews, John Kappi, the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, reported that the arrests took place during the first week of the WASSCE.
