Alan’s Campaign Team Urges NEC To Address Register Anomalies

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been urged to act quickly to address any anomalies found in the register by party supporters on the team of flagbearer candidate Alan Kyerematen.

The Alan Kyeremanten campaign team reported some discrepancies found in the register to the National Executive Council.

In an interview with Citi TV, Sylvester Tetteh, a member of flagbearer Alan Kyeremanten’s team, bemoaned the anomalies found.

“The Chief of Staff is not a member of the National Executive Committee, but she has been captured as a member, and we have drawn the attention of the elections committee to that correction. Additionally, the Ashanti Regional Second Vice Chairperson has been duplicated in the same album, and these are some of the things we are bringing to their attention.”

“Former members of parliament are not eligible, only sitting members are eligible, and also, the Chief of Staff may be invited to NEC meetings, but that does not make one eligible, and that is not correct in the regulation of elections of our party.”

“We are yet to get a response from NEC, but we are hopeful that they will do the right thing,” Mr. Tetteh added.

The purpose of the anomaly discovery is to force the register’s resolution prior to the party’s special delegate conference, which is scheduled for August 26.

Relatively, any NPP flagbearer candidate who can bring the party together and win the 2024 presidential election for the party will have the support of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana.

He claims that in order to win the general election in 2024, the party delegates must forge an effective, united front that is both strong and formidable.

He stated on Tweet that he would back a presidential candidate who could defeat John Mahama, the NDC’s (perennial NDC presidential candidate), for the third time in a row.
