John Dumelo as we all know is one of the prominent Ghanaians both home and Abroad and he is a farmer/businessman/actor and he just voiced out what has always been in the thoughts of well-meaning Ghanaians, that talk of rehabilitating old tourist sites to world-class ones to attract more of what we are already seeing as the preferred destination choice for especially Hollywood.
According to John Dumelo on Facebook via his official page, here’s what he had to say;
‘Gradually Ghana is becoming the destination for Dec vacations because of numerous music festivals and entertainment events. Now let’s try and focus on rehabilitating the old tourist sites and building new world-class ones so we can get more tourists all year round. This is our time!’
From John Dumelo and any other discerning Ghanaian, the country has seen a meteoric rise in visits to the country since the #YearOfReturn which saw a lot of Black Americans visit the lengths and breadth of the country to know and see their origins. Never before in the history of our tourism have we seen such a large influx of tourists and the good news, more and more continue to visit especially during the holidays, we must be doing something good!

Ghana is genetically a place of peace with a people of welcoming attitude. John Dumelo knows this. We know this and after all, the world knows this too and it is now pressing on us to make very good use of such opportunities to generate more revenues because the world is moving on and not really a lot would care about an abandoned history. So please this is to the powers that be which includes you and me to approach this vision with an all-hands-on-deck approach. This has been your errands boy with words as feet!
