In other sports news, Chris Hughton, head coach of the Black Stars, has disclosed how he came to hold that position.

In March of this year, the former Premier League manager signed a 21-month contract.

Chris Hughton took over for Otto Addo, who resigned from his position after his nation was eliminated early from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 64-year-old explained how he came to be the four-time African champions’ head coach by saying, “My dad passed away recently but he was alive when I had the job and I am very proud to do so,” he told talkSPORTS.

Chris Hughton has played three games so far, winning one and drawing the other two. When Ghana hosts the Central African Republic in their final group match in September, he will be hoping to lead the team to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
