Private legal practitioner and former police officer, Alexander Amoako Twum Barimah has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) intend to maintain the free SHS policy if they successful win power in the 2024 general elections.
According to Twum Barimah, the NDC will never collapse free SHS education but would rather prioritize on quality more than quantity.
Mr. Twum Barimah speaking during a panel discussion on Adekye Nsroma on UTV morning show said the ruling NPP government are not handling the free SHS well and because of that a lot of the students who gain admissions to universities don’t do well academically.
However, under the NDC administration, they will produce quality students who will possess the qualities of becoming productive in the future.

Earlier this month, Twum Barimah said the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia can never be a better option to replace President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, Bawumia is the worst version of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Relatively, to invest US$3 billion in an integrated ICT infrastructure, including onshore and offshore fiber superhighways and electronic applications, NDC is looking to partner with the private sector.
The investment, according to the party, will support other national priorities in the health, education, agriculture, petroleum, and the power sectors while advancing communication, commerce, civil liberties, and individual expression.
John Mahama, the party’s nominee for president in 2024, claims that the initiative will also improve service delivery to Ghanaians, modernize the economy and outmoded legacy platforms and IT systems, increase network security, and generate thousands of decent and long-lasting jobs throughout the value chain.
At the Academic City University College’s graduation ceremony, Mahama said that the next generation of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) offers a holistic approach to learning, tearing down conventional silos and fostering interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.
In light of this, he tasked Academic City University College with finding additional ways to advance and publicize STEAM education, and he exhorted the graduates to adopt the virtues of grit, honesty, compassion, tenacity, and patriotism.
