Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency under the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alexander Akwasi Acquah has lashed out at Ghanaians and some politicians especially from the opposition parties dragging the former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaaah over her stolen home.
Cecilia Dapaah’s stolen money has gain national interest since the news broke out last Friday, July 21, 2023.
Since then, Ghanaians and some politicians have tagged the former Sanitation and Water Minister a ‘corrupt’ government official who kept the country’s money in secret while the citizens are suffering from the current economic crisis.
During a panel discussion on Adekye Nsroma morning show on UTV, Alexander Acquah said those who are paddling insults and all kinds words against the Cecilia Dapaah are hypocrites, jealous and celebrate mediocrity.
According to him, Ghanaians should rather condemn her house helps who stole the money and not the former Minister who decided to take the case to court following the theft in her home.
Alexander Acquah went on to say that it is high time Ghanaians understood that some politicians were already wealthy before they ventured into politicians and gained government appointment.
He concluded by urging his fellow politicians and the media to refrain from sensationalizing the issue because anyone of them could also face the same thing happening to Cecilia Dapaah.

In a related news, according to Good Evening Ghana host , Mr. Paul Adom Otchere, there is a perfect explanation for the $1 million in cash discovered in Cecilia Dapaah’s residence.
Only $200,000 of the $1 million belonged to Cecilia Dapaah herself, according to the Good Evening Ghana host; the other $800,000 belonged to Cecilia Dapaah’s late brother, who gave it to her late mother before he passed away.
Mr. Adom-Otchere claims that everything he says is recorded on the police charge sheet.
Paul claimed that Cecilia Dapaah only contacted the police because she was about to experience a family trust crisis.
