If Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia wins the general elections in 2024, Alan Kyeremanten will have a role, according to Farouk Aliu Mahama, the member of parliament for Yendi.
Even though the former trade minister is running against the Vice President for the position of flagbearer, he claimed that if NPP wins, Mr. Kyeremanten would be given consideration for a ministerial position.
None of the candidates, in his opinion, can say that they have suffered more than the others in support of the NPP, and the delegates will decide which candidate has endured the most hardship.
The Alan Kyeremanten campaign team is accusing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of forcing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on the party in the meantime.

“Alan is somebody who is very respected and who has carried himself well, very intelligent. We will need him to become a Minister under Bawumia. But there shouldn’t be a yardstick for you to say that you have suffered.
“The Vice President has suffered for the party, he has been an existing, important creature in the space of Ghanaian politics for the last sixteen years. He didn’t win for almost ten years and he patiently waited. So for Alan to say it’s my turn mantra, such a mantra has been shot down. Because Apreku too is senior to Alan and when you say suffering we’ve all suffered. Bawumia has also suffered, Alan too, all of them but the suffering will be determined by the delegates,” Mr. Aliu Mahama stated.
Richard Nyamah, a spokesperson for the Alan Campaign, stated on Morning Starr with Francis Abban that President Akufo-Addo does not need to publicly state that he supports the Vice President because everything is clear and there is proof.
