A posthumous promotion has been given to the police officer who died in an attack on a bullion van in the Accra suburb of Ablekuma Fanmilk.

During a pre-burial service held at the St. George Catholic Church in Tesano, the deceased policeman, Callistus Amoah, was promoted from General Lance Corporal to General Corporal.

On June 22, 2023, a bullion van robbery incident occurred at a fueling station in Ablekuma, which resulted in the death of General Corporal Callistus Amoah.

General Corporal Callistus Amoah was killed in a shocking daylight robbery while being attacked by a bullion van in Ablekuma Fanmilk.

Videos of the incident that are making the rounds on social media show some bystanders helping the police officer who was saved from the back but died as a result of his injuries from the back of a pick-up truck.

At the scene, the officer passed away from his injuries.

According to reports, the attack happened when the bullion van stopped at a gas station, possibly to buy fuel. According to reports, this is when the attackers started attacking the car.

The van’s driver was able to get away unscathed.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, sent his condolences to Callistus Amoah’s family and to the organizations he worked with during his career.

Meanwhile, at Assin Breku, the regional capital of Assin North in the Central Region, two people have been burned to death.

On Thursday, July 13, 2023, an unidentified assailant attacked a 63-year-old woman in her room with a cutlass in Assin Breku.

At the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, the machete attack victim is currently receiving medical attention.

After learning about the incident, the town’s youth started looking for the suspects.

The angry mob later found two suspects in a nearby bush and detained them there. They were thought to be responsible for the woman’s attack.
