Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications director Nana Akomea revealed that vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the candidate to beat in the party’s flagbearer contest.
He claimed that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is frightened by Dr. Bawumia’s skill.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, according to Akomea, has a commanding lead in the race to be the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He asserts that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s campaign strategy supports the findings of the researchers’ analysis and interpretation of the delegates’ voting patterns.
According to Nana Akomea, the campaign team has researchers conducting fieldwork in the Ashanti region to give them peace of mind.
“We respect delegates but do not fear them,” he emphasized.
If the National Democratic Congress views Bawumia as merely an adversary, Nana Akomea is pleading with them to back him.
On the “Kuro Yi Mu Nsem” program on Nhyira FM, Akomea revealed to Nana Jantuah.
Nana Akomea asserts that the Bawumia campaign team need not be afraid of delegates if they conduct thorough research, run effective campaigns, and are able to communicate effectively with them.
In a related news, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vetting committee has given the go-ahead to all 10 of its presidential candidates.
The ten candidates are Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Joe Ghartey, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Kwadwo Poku, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, and signed by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party’s National Council will discuss the recommendations of the Vetting Committee on July 20, 2023.
However, the party’s general secretary advised all of the candidates to conduct their campaigns and interactions with decorum.
