A Wizkid and Davido joint tour is one we didn’t anticipate and what a tour this is going to be if the announcement by Wizkid via his Instagram page is anything to go by. Wizkid and Davido alongside Burna-Boy are currently the continent’s biggest musical and are responsible for the global recognition of the Afro-pop sound and have paved way for the new and upcoming faces in the industry.
Wizkid has been busy touring the globe with his newest album ‘More Love Less Ego’ which is a little over two months old and has taken a life of its and continues to rack up incredible figures across the various streaming platforms including Boomplay, Audiomack and so many more. Albums usually take some time before being toured with but he is called Big Wiz for a reason as he is one of the few artists who need less than half a year in touring his albums. Wizkid is used to selling out wherever he performs and nothing has changed but selling out huge venues with an album technically two months old is just proof of what a big global brand Wizkid is.
Davido for his part had taken a leave of the music scene to mourn the unfortunate demise of his three-year-old son who passed away as a result of drowning. The death of a loved one hits everyone regardless of who you are and so it was understood he had to cancel major events he was billed to perform at including the opening ceremony of the World cup in Qatar. After going sabbatical during which he got married to the mother of his deceased son, Chioma in what was a behind-closed-door ceremony.
