Nana Adu-Boahen, the Chief of Korase in the Ashanti region’s Ejisu municipal, has banned politicians from entering his community for any kind of partisan political activity.
This comes after he decided to sell his cocoa field in order to earn cash for the community’s poor road, which connects them to Kwaso and other communities in the municipality.
In a fit of fury, the chief said that repeated requests to the past Ejisu-Juaben District Assembly and the current Ejisu Municipal Assembly to fix the 2 km road over the years had been unsuccessful.

The neighborhood lacks suitable educational projects, according to Nana Adu-Boahen, who was speaking to the media on Saturday, June 24, 2023 while evaluating ongoing restoration work on the Kwaso-Korase route.
As the community’s leader, he stated that it causes him considerable concern to watch his people living in insecure circumstances as commuters struggle to access the road after rainfall which affects economic activities.
“School children and sick people are having challenges in commuting to other communities for classes and medical attention, respectively, due to the muddy nature of the road when it rains”, he bemoaned.
The chief recalled numerous instances when youngsters and pregnant women were carried to neighboring neighborhoods to assess healthcare on motorcycles and bicycles.
“Residents struggle to transport farm produce, including cocoa, to nearby market centers due to the bad road network, with some people losing their lives over the years,” the chief posited.
According to Nana Adu-Boahen, he phoned the MCE, Hon. Samuel Oduro Frimpong, and the MP, Hon. John Kumah, to remind them of the pledges they made, but they did not object to him.
“I have no option than to sell my cocoa farm to gather funds to have the less than 2km road fixed, for the sake of my people,” Nana Adu-Boahen sadly said.
He added that owing to failed promises in the area by politicians “I don’t need any politicians and their activities in the community because they have nothing to offer to us”.
