Well, every artist is entitled to their opinion and it makes perfect sense when we admire our own works regardless of the societal implications that may come with and I am a true believer in romanticizing one’s works and Joeboy without a single shred of doubt is one of the continent’s finest songwriters and his tall list of commercially successful songs are testament to that. His name would surely earn a mention amongst artists with high streaming numbers from such platforms as Boomplay, Audiomack and so many more as well as having over a million views in more than one song. His artistry skills mainly glimmer when he sings in what he believes is a zone of his ‘Love songs’
For a long time, his writing style has been compared on the basis of similarity to especially Fireboy DML who is another generational talent in his own right. Both have long been compared to each other as both have a similar pen-game as well as an identical singing voice and a striking physical resemblance.
Joeboy gave us one of the best love songs in ‘Show Me’ and so infectious is his sound he has earned a very large and loyal following for himself and although he has been around for some time, he is still to a certain extent a new face in the industry. Due to his insane consistency in producing back-to-back hit songs, most make the mistake of assuming he has been in the industry as long as such names as Tecno, Flavour, etc.
