The 31.2 km Assin Fosu to Assin Praso stretch, which links Ahwian Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region with Yamoransa in the Central Region, has been officially opened by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Mr. Bawumia, the N8 highway’s completion will reduce travel times for the nearby communities.

Dr. Bawumia, the person who gave the order to build the road at Assin Praso, said that the 58 million US dollars in funding provided by the Japanese government helped to complete the project. He also said that the government would continue to find additional funding to complete the final 67 kilometers between Assin Fosu and Yamoransa.

“The 31.2-kilometer Assin Fosu to Assin Praso road has been completed, and it’s a testament to President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to improving road infrastructure across the country. The N8 highway will also connect Ahwian Nkwanta in the Ashanti region to Yamoransa in the Central Region. The project which is for 58 million US dollars is a grant from the government of Japan to Ghana,”

“The upgrading of Assin Fosu town roads which is 50% completed is underway, and I must say that under the NPP government, Assin has seen a lot of development. A modern footbridge and other auxiliary facilities will soon be completed,” the Vice President noted.

The 67-kilometer road between Assin Fosu and Yamoransa will be completed with additional funding, according to Dr. Bawumia’s assurance.

In a related news, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has discussed his early years in life.

He described the difficult situations he encountered while growing up and in college and expressed gratitude for the arduous journey that brought him to this point.

Dr. Bawumia revealed that he was only able to cover the cost of one term’s worth of tuition during his time as an undergraduate at the esteemed University of Oxford.

He turned to working as a taxi driver and dormitory cleaner to make ends meet. Despite these difficulties, he persisted and eventually finished his studies.
