Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the majority chief whip, is optimistic about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) chances in the upcoming Assin North by-election.
He claimed that the governing party’s strategy will ensure that they retake the seat.
The Nsawam-Adoakyiri MP assured reporters in Parliament that the NPP would prevail.
“We have our strategy, and they have theirs and let’s see at the end of the day what happens. They even said they were going to win Kumawu, but we all know what happened.
“We have read all the polls, we are guided, we are mindful, and we are moving in a direction that will put our strategy spot on, so I am very happy they are feeling they will win.”
Agya Koo, a renowned Ghanaian actor, has likewise endorsed the governing party to win the by-election.
The Kumawood actor claims that Nana Addo’s sterling work will persuade the voters to support the NPP candidate.
The actor claimed that prominent NDC members were spreading false information about President Akufo-Addo and the NPP in order to undermine their efforts to pass legislation legalizing LGBTQ+ people.
Agya Koo stressed in an interview with AMBASSADOR TV that the NPP will receive a resounding majority of the vote in Assin North Constituency as a result of President Akuf-Addo and the NPP’s development initiatives there.
“Ambassador, Come to Assin North and witness asphalt roads, markets, schools and ongoing developmental projects by NPP and Nana Addo. The people of Assin North are ready to say thank you to NPP and Nana Addo with their votes” Agya Koo told Osei Kwadwo of AMBASSADOR TV.
The actor adds that “NDC propaganda against President Akufo-Addo and NPP over LGBTQ will never give them victory in Assin North. Ghanaians are aware that President Akufo-Addo and NPP will never accept LGBTQ so NDC members are just spreading propaganda to win sympathy votes in Assin North but they will never succeed”.
Following the Supreme Court’s decision that the election of former MP James Gyakye Quayson was invalid, the election will take place on June 27, 2023.
