Charles Taylor, a former Ghanaian international, joked that he is looking for a club to join in Saudi Arabia.

Due to the government’s purchase of four football clubs there and significant investment in acquiring renowned players, Saudi Arabia has become a desirable location for football stars.

Their popularity has been further boosted by recent additions like N’golo Kante, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Saudi Pro League.

Players like Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Bernardo Silva have been mentioned in connection with potential moves to the oil-rich country.

The 41-year-old Taylor, who last played professionally in 2014, was encouraged by these developments and lightheartedly expressed an interest in coming out of retirement.

“I want a club in Saudi Arabia to play, I’ve not retired,” the 41-year-old said on Angel FM in Accra.

Charles Taylor rose to fame as a key player on the Hearts of Oak squad that won the league, FA Cup, and CAF Champions League titles in 2000, completing an impressive treble.

His career, however, took a contentious turn when he contentiously switched to Asante Kotoko, the bitter rivals of Hearts of Oak. The transfer generated a lot of discussion and fueled the two clubs’ already fierce rivalry.

Charles Taylor dazzled in his prime and is remembered by many Ghanaians for his frantic pace and skills on the flanks. He has also previously led the Ghanaian league in scoring.
