Napari Suheru was detained by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly assaulting a female referee on June 17, 2023, during a Division 1B football game near the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.
In the aftermath of Tiyumba Ladies’ match against Soccer Missionaries Ladies last Saturday, manager Napari Suheru is alleged to have kicked and hit the female referee, Mohammed Sakina Nasara.
Inspector-General Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has discussed the ongoing police investigation with Professor Peter Twumasi, the director general of the National Sports Authority, and Mr. Kurt Okraku, president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The Inspector-General urged them to notify the Police in advance of every football game in the lower leagues, just like they do for the premier league, during the meeting.
According to several reports, Coach Napari was furious when his team was given an indirect free kick after the goalkeeper picked up the ball after receiving a back pass from a teammate.
In an effort to get the female referee to change her mind, he is said to have told his players to leave the field. He attacked her, though, when she refused to back down.
Currently in police custody, the suspect will be brought to court to answer for his crimes.
