Shadrach Addy, a 19-year-old Junior High School (JHS) student, drowned in the Densu River after allegedly sneaking out of class to go swimming with friends.
The incident happened on Thursday, June 14, 2023 at Oparekrom in the Nsawam Adoagyiri municipality of the Eastern region, but the body wasn’t found until Friday.
Witnesses claim that on that fateful day, the deceased, a student at Tieku Basic School, and his friends went swimming in the Densu River without first getting permission from the teachers.

Shadrach drowned while swimming at around 2:00 pm despite all attempts to save him failing.
The body was swept away by the river but retrieved the next morning around 10:30 am.
The body has been left at the Nsawam Government Hospital while the police conduct their investigation.
