Okyeame Kwame, a rapper from Ghana, is adamant that beating kids to discipline them physically is violent and opposes such practices.
Okyeame Kwame, a father of two, has never punished his kids physically for their transgressions. He can still successfully correct their actions and point them in the right direction despite this.
He explained how he handles his kids’ misbehavior in an interview on Joy Prime’s morning show.
“I don’t beat my children. I consider it the most barbaric thing a human being can do. It is violent,” he spoke clearly.
Okyeame Kwame emphasizes that spoiling them neither is a part of their upbringing. Instead, he uses his own training approach, which he calls the “role modalalism strategy.”

He claims that this method is very effective because children often imitate the actions of adults. He clarified, “I utilize the concept of mirror neurons through role modalism. Whatever I want my children to do, I lead by example. If I want my children to respect women, I demonstrate respect toward my wife. If I want them to adopt healthy eating habits, I embrace a healthy lifestyle myself.”
Okyeame Kwame detests both the act of yelling at children and the use of corporal punishment. He prefers to give his kids the freedom to live their own lives and grow into independent adults. In addition to respecting their privacy, he gives them the room they require to develop their own identities.
Okyeame Kwame claims he works hard to give his kids a nurturing and respectful environment so they can flourish.
The use of corporal punishment in Ghana’s educational system has been reviewed and is being reconsidered, which is something he also praised.
