After initially claiming to be unaware of Blakk Rasta and his work in an interview, Ghanaian singer Efya has now publicly declared her love and adoration for him.
She claims that Blakk Rasta is a person whom she admires and that she will never be able to forget him or his contributions to the industry.
On February 2, 2023, Efya was asked if she knew radio host Blakk Rasta during an interview with GHone TV.
She stated: “Oh yes, I’ll never not know that man ever again in my life. I’ll know him every day, forever and ever and I pay respect to him for his job and everything he does.”
She replied that she didn’t know him, including Blakk Rasta’s personality and creative output.
She said: Who is that? He is a rapper; he is what? He’s a radio journalist? But journalists say what they want. They don’t care. I don’t think I know who he is. What does he do, radio?
When the radio host sang “Barack Obama” by Blakk Rasta to help the singer remember the song, she realized the name sounded familiar to him.
“Oh, that funny man, yeah yeah yeah. He does funny songs, right? Listen, everyone for himself, God for us all”, she stated.
Blakk Then Rasta responded to the remark she had made, but he was furious when Efya said he has funny songs. As a result, there was some conflict between the singer and the radio host.
Efya clarified the situation in an interview with Asempa 94.7 by saying that she initially denied knowing Blakk Rasta because she thought he was someone else.
She said: “I mistook him for someone else, yeah that is why”.
Blakk Rasta shared a section of the interview on his Twitter along with the caption, “Reacting to Efya’s change of heart regarding her knowledge of who he is.”

As a result of the incident, there was tension between Efya and Blakk Rasta because of her remark that he sang funny songs. Nevertheless, Efya seized the chance to make things right and apologize for the confusion.
