The “longest cooking marathon by an individual” record was broken by Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef.
On Monday morning, the chef broke the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Lata Tondon, who is no longer the Guinness World Record holder.
On Thursday at precisely 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Hilda started the competition by turning on her cooker.
As the first person ever to spend that much time cooking, Hilda continued to cook for 96 hours despite having already broken the previous record.
Government representatives, famous people, religious leaders, and other well-meaning Nigerians have continued to show their support for the restaurant.
This is despite the fact that Nigerians supported her despite a significant downpour on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, who is preparing to break Lata Tondon’s record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, has also received encouragement from Tondon.
The chef, who is 27 years old, began cooking on May 11, 2023, and had been at it for more than 78 hours when Tondon commended her on Instagram.
In a post, she wrote,“All the best Hilda to see you on Official Site of Guinness Book Of World Record Soon!!
Hilda is still cooking till 4 pm to meet her record goal of 96 hours.
The current Guinness world record holder, Chef Lata Tondon throws support for Hilda Baci❤️❤️

Check out some reactions from Nigerians on social media below;
87 hours+ done!
Now she’d get to 96hours. Giving a big gap between her record and the last, so not matter how it’s calculated at Guinness world records her record would still be valid.
Love this woman.❤️ pic.twitter.com/4FSTg2VNQt
