A post on social media that has been attributed to her is fake, according to Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a special aide to former president John Mahama.
According to Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the post originated from a duplicate account made in her name.
According to the aforementioned post, Joyce Bawa criticized Ashantis “for their unnecessary egos.”
On Saturday, May 13, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries. This is allegedly related to Dr. Kwabena Duffuor’s lawsuit challenging those elections.
However, the former deputy transport minister denied the post in a Facebook post on Wednesday and asked the public to disregard it.
She claims that the government is responsible for a number of clone accounts used by political opponents to stir up public outrage.
“As soon as they announced a government initiative to curb the spread of fake news I knew that this infamous government had discovered a new scam! Clone the accounts of political opponents and set them up for attacks or create disaffection.
“Hopefully even though I am grateful for the swift manner in which people shared the fake tweet for my personal attention, I wish that people would rather discount, discredit or report the fake tweets instead of sharing same across platforms knowing same to be false, fake and disinformation,” she posted.
In a related news, campaign spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama has debunked viral reports that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer aspirant has been involved in an accident with his convoy.
According to the official statement from the team, the former president hasn’t had any accident neither have they postponed his campaign.
The campaign spokesperson stated categorically that the accident that occurred involved the Regional team who went ahead of the Mahama to Yapei constituency.
