After taking a break from his career due to demanding health concerns, KiDi agreed to his first interview.
Unverified reports suggested the Ghanaian singer was suffering from a stroke a few weeks ago. As KiDi’s name quickly rose in Ghana’s Twitter trends as a result of the claim, the singer’s fans began to worry and inquire about it.
Richie Mensah has categorically denied the claim, stating that his artist is not suffering from a stroke. The rumors, in his opinion, are clickbait. “KiDi hasn’t had a stroke. Ignore the rumours and the click bait,” he said in a Tweet.
Due to reports of his ill health, KiDi, who postponed his North American tour earlier this year, finally spoke out.
On Friday, April 14, KiDi addressed the rumors from what he refers to as “bad actors” in an Instagram post while reiterating the justification for the social media hiatus.
“A little under two months ago, I made the painful decision of cancelling my tour to take care of my health that included taking time off social media. In that time, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from family, friends, fans and the brands i work with. You all made me feel incredibly loved in this difficult period and I cant appreciate you enough.
Following his announcement about his health, KiDi released a brand-new song titled “I Lied.” KiDi, who was visibly moved, sang about his condition and ordeal in the song.
“If I tell you I am OK, I lied. I am smiling but I am dead inside,” he said in the song. Further singing, he continued that “look into my eye you see the pain inside, I don’t want to chill I wanna stay inside. If I show you my liver, you go take me prayer”.
KiDi appeared to perform at the ongoing VGMAs, demonstrating that he is suited for the stage. For a brief period, he surprised the audience and viewers of the award show by performing “Blessed,” “I Lied,” and “We Outside.”
Despite KiDi’s performance, some fans questioned whether he was healthy enough to start performing again.

However, the “Say Cheese” singer insists that he is healthy and refutes claims that he had a stroke in a recent interview.
KiDi claimed he doesn’t have a live disease, despite the fact that his most recent song, “I Lied,” also mentions liver failure.
“I don’t have a stroke, it’s one of the craziest things I ever heard,” he said in the video below and added that ” I want to state categorically, I do not have a liver disease”.
