Celebrated investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, has called on the Akufo-Addo led administration to allow themselves and listen to other fresh ideas due to what he describes as running “out of ideas on the economy.”

According to Manasseh, the government decision on a lot of national policies have created uncertainty and low level of trust which can bring the country to the lowest stage.

In a Facebook post, Manasseh suggested that government should be open to the Senchi type of meetings with those who matter and listen to the good alternatives that would come out of such dialogues.

He maintained that, the earlier the better for such discussions, adding that, else the damaging nature of the economy will keep getting worser.

“Meet and put the figures honestly before them. Let them bring their views on what you can cut and starve so that the country can move on. Our bankers say they don’t trust the government when we speak to them. Private bond holders are dying. It’s a life and death situation” part of the post reads.

“Dear Government, You’ve run out of ideas on the economy. Your indecision has created uncertainty and lack of trust that can plunge us deeper beyond redemption before you clinch an IMF deal. Let your team meet with experts, academics and stakeholders in the financial sector.

“Meet and put the figures honestly before them. Let them bring their views on what you can cut and starve so that the country can move on. Our bankers say they don’t trust the government when we speak to them. Private bond holders are dying. It’s a life and death situation.

“Nobody knows what will happen next. Many heads, at this point, will be better than that of the government alone. Hold an emergency Senchi-like meeting with those who matter and listen to alternatives. Do it before it gets too late. It keeps getting worse so act now. Thank you.”
