Ghanaian media personality George Nii Armah Quaye has clearly stated that Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy is also favorite to win this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ‘Artiste of the Year.’
According to him, Stonebwoy has been left out of the conversation around the favorite to win the prestigious award tonight and it seems everyone is talking about Black Sherif, Camidoh, and Piesie Esther.

Sharing his opinion during a panel discussion on TV3 New Day Show with Berla Mundi, Mr. George Quaye said the Dancehall star has worked very hard and has also achieved a lot the year under review and therefore also deserves to be crowned VGMA ‘Artiste of the Year.’
“I think that Stonebwoy has worked hard and I just figured the conversation has sort of left him out and I was asking myself how, why,” he lamented.
He further stated that even Sarkodie has also been left out of the conversation but he’s not too bothered about the rapper because he has won it for a record of two times and has won so awards that he doesn’t need to prove himself anymore.
He described Sarkodie as the ‘Jay Z’ of the Ghana music.
The media personality also acknowledged the hard of Black Sherif as well, however, he feels Stonebwoy deserves it more following the Dancehall musician’s recent invitation to perform at the FIFA Fun Festival in Qatar among other international collaboration.

Relatively, Stonebwoy has bemoaned his inability to cling the ultimate top award Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year.
Recall, in 2019, Stonebwoy came close to winning the VGMA Atiste of the Year award but unfortunately, a fight broke between him and Shatta Wale on stage as the ‘Everlasting’ hitmaker pulled out a gun on stage.

Charterhouse Productions later on annulled the results and stripped the two biggest Dancehall artistes of all the awards they won that night.
According to him, all things being equal he should have won the ‘Artiste of the Year’ 4 times within the same time he won the “Reggae-Dancehall Artiste of the Year,” since 2016 to date.
Dancehall musician would need to defeat Sarkodie, KiDi, Camidoh, Black Sherif, King Promise, Esther Piesie and Joe Mettle to win 2023 VGMA Artiste of the Year.
