A young man has stated that he provides sperm for a charge of 2,500 every week. His confession was revealed in a TV3 “Man Assisted Babies,” interview which aired on News360 on January 14, 2023.
The documentary by Emmanuel Samani examines the sperm and egg donation industry in Ghana, which has helped many young, jobless people make ends meet.
“So I had a couple of friends in the University and I wanted to know how they make their monies because they always look good and okay. So they introduced me to this. I donate every week, which I get like 2, 500 Ghana cedis. As far as we have surrogated mothers, this type of donation is real. Not really like some needs the children or something, and not also like I need that money but I’m helping the society” he detailed.
He said the financial freedom is of more importance to him, in addition to other matters for the donation.
He added, “I’m doing God’s work because I think He said we should fill the earth and definitely we need to fill it with children. I feel I also need to do something to help society. I feel like a hero because I am helping society”.
