MTN Ghana has come under fire from Kevin Taylor for abruptly ending a data offer without informing its customers.
For more than a year, the Ghanaian Telecommunication Company has offered customers an inexpensive package called the “zone bundle,” but they are no longer able to sign up for it.
It has reportedly been canceled without an official announcement from MTN, upsetting the network’s customers.
The CEO of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevor, has received criticism for the company’s actions, and Loud Silence’s Kevin Taylor has added his two cents to the conversation that is currently trending online, particularly on TikTok.
“MTN Ghana CEO Selorm Adadevoh Your Ghanaian customers of Zone bundle need to be treated with respect and not like fools.
If you have an internet offer you are turning off for whatever reason, you don’t do that abruptly, you serve notice and give reasons why the offer is being taken off because you have a contract with your customers.
Will Mtn be Mtn if users decide to ditch the network provider for another one? Do not in your thinking believe Mtn cannot collapse in Ghana if the users decide to revolt against some of these useless unilateral decisions your outfit takes.
There are a lot more sophisticated companies that collapsed in many part of the world because of similar actions as Mtn Ghana takes here in Ghana.
You know Mtn cannot do whatever they have done to the Zone Bundle offer by just taking off without notice to their clients in any European Country or America right? Do the Right Thing!”
Relatively, MTN Ghana has responded to the issue by stating that the suspension of the Data Zone Service was brought about by a review of the bundle offer in accordance with the Significant Market Power (SMP) directives applied to MTN GHANA in June 2020, which stated that MTN GHANA was not allowed to have the lowest price on any offer in the market.
However, MTN Ghana revealed in the communiqué that they are currently speaking with and working with the regulator to find consensus on a revised Data Zone Bundle that will be reinstated as soon as possible.
