Alan Kyeremanten, the former minister of trade, is just as deserving, according to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He claimed that Mr. Kyeremanten deserves to be the flagbearer because he has worked hard for the party for years.
Mr. Ken Agyapong said Mr. Kyerematen has paid his dues to the party and is deserving of being the flag bearer on Sompa FM in the Kumasi metropolis.
According to him, Mr. Kyerematen is even more deserving of the honor if people are arguing that Dr. Bawumia deserves it because he served as vice president for two terms.
“Yes, if Alan says it’s his turn, he deserves it because he has been in the trenches with the party from its inception as the president of the Young Executives Forum (YEF) which was the financial wing of the NPP in the early days”, Mr Ken Agyapong noted.
He wondered: “Where were all these small boys who have been insulting Alan, when he was in the trenches working for the NPP”.
Should he be elected president in 2024, Alan Keyeremanten has promised to bring Ghana back to industrialization.
He claimed that if his ideas for industrialization and skill development had been put into practice about 22 years ago, Ghana would currently be making about $50 billion USD annually.
He claimed that if cocoa had affected Ghana’s economy, it would have done so long ago. He emphasized the need to concentrate on additional economic development fields in addition to cocoa production.
In order to get their prayers and support for his presidential run, the former trade minister met with the chiefs and merchants in Dambai, in the Oti Region.
He claimed that approximately 22 years ago, he proposed to the government investing in the production of palm oil, but the idea was rejected.
