Today, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, which also happens to be the 60th birthday of Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye (Esq.), Director-General of Legal and Prosecution for the Ghana Police Service, will formally leave the Police Service.

The departure of COP Kofi Boakye, also known as “Commander One,” is intended to leave a void in the Service.

There has been no formal word though on whether or when the Ghana Police Service would hold the honorary Pull-out ceremony for COP Kofi Boakye.

Insightnewsgh.com, however, can report that COP Kofi Boakye (Esq) will attend a private prayer and thanksgiving service at a residence in Accra by close of Wednesday.

When he was an ACP in 2005 and led a team of men from the Greater Accra Regional Police Command to arrest the notorious armed robber Ataa Ayi and some members of his dangerous gang, the retiring Commissioner of Police, COP, established a solid reputation for himself in the Service and became well-known throughout the nation.

Ataa Ayi and his group were the cruelest and most wanted robbery gang in the nation prior to their capture and prosecution in 2005.

Kofi Boakye’s fiercely combative attitude against armed robbery played a significant role in winning the hearts of Ghanaians.

He was regarded as a fearless and brave officer by his Service peers and subordinates, and he had a natural talent for tracking down and apprehending robbery gangs.

The Ashanti Region and its residents experienced complete calm and were spared any robberies during his time as the Ashanti Regional Police Commander.

While he was the local police chief, the Ashanti Regional Police Command also made a number of important arrests of criminals.

COP Kofi Boakye achieved great success as the Regional Commander in the Western Region before moving to the Ashanti Region.

In order for law and order to rule in the Western Region, he also saw to it that all the notorious offenders there were also apprehended.

COP Kofi Boakye also did admirably while serving in the Greater Accra Region.

COP In addition to his accomplishments in the battle against crime, Kofi Boakye is praised for instilling hard work and discipline in those under his leadership.
