Following the announcement of his divorce a few weeks ago, Basket Mouth has declared himself single and looking.
The Nigerian comedian revealed his ideas of possibly mixing with Ghanaian women and likely picking one to wed in an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM.
In a widely shared Instagram post that has since been removed, Basket Mouth publicly announced his divorce from his wife, Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, on December 22, 2022.
Announcing the end of his 12-year marriage, he said “for the first and the last time as much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.

“After much deliberation, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need,” he said.
Making lemonade out of lemons, the renowned stand-up comedian who is performing a rib-cracking show in Ghana has professed his love for the country, its people, and its alluring women.
Following his breakup with Elsie, he stated that he is single and intends to give himself some time before entering a new relationship in an interview with Andy Dosty today, March 28, 2023.
“Twi is an amazing language, I am going to learn more. On my way here, I said to myself, wouldn’t it be cool to learn the language and come stay here for like a year? You know, just chill, get married to a Ghana woman and stuff,” he said amidst laughter.
“I am single but you know I am just kidding. I am not ready to jump into anything just yet…maybe am not kidding, who knows,” Basket Mouth added.
