Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, the ever audacious Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said he would appear before the Party’s disciplinary committee to respond to allegations of misconduct against him and has called on the Committee to broadcast all meetings with him live on both radio and on television in the interest of transparency.

“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the antichrist actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, which has undermined the cohesion and integrity of our Party”, Abronye DC noted in an official statement he signed and issued on the letter head of the NPP Bono Regional Secretariat on September 30, 2025, the same date his invitation to the disciplinary committee was communicated to the media.

The statement from Abronye DC noted further: “Since the referral was made public, I therefore propose that the sittings of the Committee be conducted openly and broadcast live, so that the rank and file of our noble Party may have the opportunity to witness, at first hand, the manifest antichrist posture and conduct of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.”

According to Abronye DC, the NPP disciplinary committee was yet to officially inform him that a petition or complaint had been filed against him and to furnish him with the details of the petition but he became aware of it through social media that a complaint had been filed against him by the Party’s General Secretary, Justine Justin Kodua Frimpong.

Early on, the Party had issued a statement to tell the public why exactly Abronye was being invited.

The statement, signed by the General Secretary, said petition outlines a series of actions by Mr. Baffoe that are deemed not only unbecoming of a member of the Party but also gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation.

It mentioned alleged defamation by Abronye DC against a senior party member, allegations against the General Secretary and alleged misrepresentation of committee findings.

On the issue of alleged defamation of a Senior Party Member, the NPP statement said “Mr. Baffoe is reported to have publicly insulted Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, a distinguished member of the Party, with derogatory statements, including a claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.” Such remarks are unprintable, defamatory, and damaging to the reputation of Hon. Agyapong and the Party at large.”

On the issue of allegations against the General Secretary the statement noted that “Mr. Baffoe further alleged that the General Secretary deliberately concealed a report that purportedly implicated Hon. Agyapong as the destroyer of the Party and recommended his expulsion. These allegations are false, malicious, and injurious to the integrity of the Office of the General Secretary.”

It said “additionally, Mr. Baffoe has purported to disclose and misrepresent the contents of a disciplinary committee report, alleging that it catalogued various offences attributed to Hon. Agyapong. Such conduct constitutes a serious breach of confidentiality, discretion, decorum, and party discipline, while also undermining the authority of the Committee.”

The petitioner was basically asking the National Disciplinary Committee to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into the conduct of Mr. Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC) and to apply the appropriate disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the Party’s Constitution, as his conduct constitutes defamation, misconduct, and gross indiscipline.

“The Party emphasizes that ensuring accountability within its ranks is non-negotiable because it safeguards the unity, integrity, and credibility of the organisation. The leadership remains committed to fairness, discipline, and the protection of the Party’s democratic values”, the statement noted.
