The Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, who seen in a viral video fondling the breast of a female student, has been sacked.

The short clip showed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, in what looked like a compromising situation with a female student. Within hours, the video was everywhere, on WhatsApp groups, Facebook pages, and X timelines. People could not believe what they were seeing, and the anger was loud.

Treating the inappropriate misconduct with great concern, the Ghana Education Service (GES) stepped in.

According to the GES through an official statement, issued on Monday, September 29, 2025, stated that the case is being treated with utmost seriousness, as it involves the safety and dignity of students.

“The attention of the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) was drawn to a viral video circulating on social media allegedly involving Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School. in a compromised position with a female student.

Management views this matter with utmost seriousness. In line with our commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care, Mr. Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement signed by GES Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, read.

Apart from removing Mr. Aidoo from his post, the Service has barred him from entering the school premises until investigations are complete.

Officials explained that this step was necessary to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for students and to protect the reputation of the teaching profession. The Service assured parents and stakeholders that due process would be followed and that no attempt would be made to cover up the issue.

News of the dismissal quickly spread across social media, sparking a wave of public discussion. Many users expressed disappointment and outrage, questioning how a senior school administrator could be caught in such a scandal.

For now, the fate of Mr. Aidoo rests on the outcome of the investigations. If found guilty, he could lose his career in teaching for good and face disciplinary measures under the rules of the GES. For the moment, his dismissal has already become a warning to other teachers and a reminder that misconduct in schools will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, the Service has reassured parents, students, and the general public that the integrity of Ghana’s schools will not be compromised.
