Asante Kotoko, champions of the Ghana Premier League, and head coach Zeydou Zerbo have mutually agreed to part ways.
After returning to the club after a two-week bereavement leave to bury his 10-year-old son, he leaves the organization just a few days later.
After only seven months in charge, the Burkinabe tactician who joined the Porcupine Warriors in August of last year has been let go.
After replacing Prosper Narteh Ogun, Seydou Zerbo was supposed to elevate the club, but performance hasn’t been up to par.

After losing to RC Kadiogo on penalties, Kotoko was forced to leave the CAF Champions League early under his watch.
In the Ghana Premier League, where Kotoko has won just two of their last six games, he also failed to motivate the Kumasi-based team.
The final straw was the 2-0 home loss to Medeama SC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after yet another lackluster showing.
Following Zerbo’s departure, assistant coach Coach Abdul Gazale will temporarily oversee the first team, according to a statement from Kotoko.
“Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and Coach Seydou Zerbo have this morning mutually agreed to part ways. Coach Abdul Gazale has been tasked to take charge as Acting Head Coach,” the club announced.
In the Ghana Premier League, Kotoko is currently in seventh place, six points back of league-leading Aduana FC.
Meanwhile, Alato’s Place is set to host its maiden edition of U17 tournament at Teshie Gono School.
