Management of East Airport Regimanuel has described actions taken by the Numo Kofi Anum Family of Tesa, Teshie against certain portion of land which is a subject in court as “Unlawful Execution of Writ of Possession and Goss Misrepresentation of High Court Judgment”.

In a statement, management of Regimanuel Gray Estate explained, whiles there is an order to jointly commission a valuation of the 123 acres in contention with parties involved, such directive has been disregarded and executed in a haphazard and chaotic manner by land guards of the other party disturbing peace and security in the neighborhood.

“The Numo Kofi Anum Family has completely disregarded these directives. Rather than engaging in the ordered valuation and negotiation process, they prematurely secured a Writ of Possession and, since June 25, 2025, have executed it in a haphazard and chaotic manner. More alarmingly, they are attempting to unlawfully extend the scope of this writ beyond the specified 123 acres to areas of the estate that are entirely outside the judgment’s purview” part of the statement reads.

RGL Statement on Kofi Annum Family’s Unlawful Conduct At Portions Of Our East Airport Estate

RE: Unlawful Execution of Writ of Possession and Gross Misrepresentation of High Court Judgment Regarding East Airport Lands

The management of Regimanuel Gray Limited (RGL) wishes to address the recent events at our East Airport development and correct the public record regarding the long-standing land dispute with the Numo Kofi Anum Family of Tesa, Teshie.

Recent actions undertaken in the name of a High Court judgment are not only a flagrant misrepresentation of the court’s actual orders but also a dangerous descent into extra-judicial conduct that threatens the peace and security of our residents and the community.

For the avoidance of doubt, RGL sets forth the following facts:

1 – Historical Context and RGL’s Registered Title

In the early 1990s, RGL entered into negotiations to purchase approximately 100 acres of land at East Airport from the Numo Kofi Anum Family. RGL paid the agreed consideration, leaving only a symbolic balance, pending the successful registration of the family’s title documents at the Lands Commission. Unfortunately, the family’s documents proved impossible to register. Subsequently, while preparing the site, RGL was confronted by the Nungua Stool, which asserted its own ownership. To ensure clear and undisputed title, RGL then entered into new negotiations and legally acquired 264 acres from the Nungua Stool. This acquisition was successfully and lawfully registered at the Lands Commission, forming the basis of our East Airport development.

2 – The High Court’s Actual Judgment vs. The Family’s Unlawful Actions

The recent High Court judgment of March 2024, which the Numo Kofi Anum Family purports to be acting on, did not grant them license to seize property. For good reason, the court recognized the legitimacy of RGL’s original purchase attempt and refused to cancel RGL’s registered Land Certificate.

Instead, the court’s explicit orders were for the parties to:

Jointly commission a valuation of the 123 acres in contention.

Negotiate a reasonable amount of consideration to be paid by RGL to the family based on this valuation.

Revert to the court after twelve (12) months for further direction.

The Numo Kofi Anum Family has completely disregarded these directives. Rather than engaging in the ordered valuation and negotiation process, they prematurely secured a Writ of Possession and, since June 25, 2025, have executed it in a haphazard and chaotic manner. More alarmingly, they are attempting to unlawfully extend the scope of this writ beyond the specified 123 acres to areas of the estate that are entirely outside the judgment’s purview.

    3 – A Pattern of Conflicting Judgments and Extra-Judicial

    Harassment

For over three decades, RGL has contended with a myriad of entities all claiming ownership over the same East Airport lands, often brandishing conflicting court judgments. These groups include the Tsie We Family, the Numo Nmashie Family, the Osabu & Ayiku Wulomo, and indeed, the Numo Kofi Anum Family.

Worryingly, factions within these families often engage in extra-judicial acts against RGL in the name of family judgments, using force and intimidation. The current situation is no different. A Writ of Possession is a legal order to be implemented lawfully by designated officers of the court; it is not a license for hoodlums to unlawfully demolish property, invade the private homes of residents, and harass peace-loving citizens. It is deeply concerning that some of these illegal acts have been perpetrated in the plain sight of security agencies.

4 – RGL’s Commitment to Due Process and Peaceful Resolution

In the face of this mayhem, RGL has consistently pursued resolution through legal due process. We have filed the necessary court applications to challenge these unlawful actions. Furthermore, in a gesture of goodwill, RGL presented a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to the Numo Kofi Anum Family, proposing a framework for a final settlement within three months. This constructive offer was flatly rejected. The family’s representatives have demanded that RGL first withdraw all its legal challenges before they will even consider engagement. This position is untenable and demonstrates a preference for coercion over lawful negotiation.

4 – Conclusion: A Call for the Rule of Law

It must be noted that legal challenges are contested in a court of law, not through brute force and breaches of the peace. RGL remains steadfast in its commitment to resolving this matter through the proper legal channels. We trust that the judiciary will act to uphold the integrity of its own orders and that the security apparatus will act with the utmost professionalism to maintain law and order, protecting life and property from these extra-judicial aggressions.

    Thank you.
