A 34-year-old man, Robert Kwabena Boamah, has been arrested for the brutal murder of 23-year-old Dorothy Owusu Annor, whose lifeless body was found earlier this week with multiple stab wounds.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command confirmed his arrest through a press release issued on Thursday April 24th 2025.

“The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested suspect Robert Kwabena Boamah, 34, in connection with the murder of a young woman. The suspect was apprehended at his hideout in Namong, near Offinso, in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025, following his involvement in the heinous crime,” the statement read.

The tragic discovery was made on Monday, April 21st, 2025, when police received a distress call from the Tanoso Electoral Area in the Kwadaso Municipality. The caller reported finding a lifelessbody of a female adult near the Mighty Jesus Educational Complex in Dominase. A team of officers responded immediately and confirmed the grim scene.

The victim, Dorothy Owusu Annor, was later identified by her family. She had sustained multiple stab wounds. An Opel Astra taxi cab with registration number AS 8575-Y was found abandoned at the crime scene, with its ignition key still in place. This crucial clue led investigators to Boamah, whose vehicle it was.

Boamah was tracked down, arrested at his hideout in Namong, near Offinso. He then confessed to the murder during police interrogation. Authorities also revealed that he appeared physically weak at the time of his arrest and admitted to attempting suicide by ingesting weedicide. He was rushed to the Abuakwa Polyclinic for treatment and later discharged.

The suspect is expected to face charges in court soon. The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assured the public of their commitment to fighting violent crime and ensuring justice for victims.
