The very thing we feared has come to pass,
A journey of contest where winning or losing will forever last.
Regardless of the outcome, we must analyze and ask why,
The whats, the hows, and the reasons that led us to this cry.
But the unfolding events are too daunting for me,
A fraternity of people, used as pawns in a game of sacrifice, can’t we see?
Must we tone down our voices, and let injustice prevail?
I, who migrated from one forest to another, due to reasons that made me frail.
In a state of limbo, I’m torn apart by hypocrisy,
And now, this new development, a sabotage of an entire fraternity?
Don’t their manuals teach them that we’re all from the same lineage?
Are they not aware that their actions are a betrayal of our common heritage?
thought we dreaded division, so why does embracing it seems a decision?
If we argue that this is not a Syria, where anyone can lead,
Then why do we assume that a Haruna or a Muntakah can’t lead the way?
Do we think we’re in an Israel, where only an Isaac is chosen to lead the day?
Wow! I’m not one to commit blasphemy, but it seems that’s exactly what’s happening here,
The hypocrisy cards are being played, without any regard for the consequences or the fear.
But for me, this journey makes sense now,
A journey of self-discovery, of speaking truth to power, and of fighting for what’s right, no matter the cost or the hour.
