Nivin Pauly was born on October 11, 1984, in Aluva, Kerala, India, into a Syro-Malabar Catholic family. His parents, Pauly Bonaventure and Thressiamma Pauly, worked in Aarau, Switzerland, where his father was a mechanic and his mother a nurse¹. He graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Also from the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT), Angamaly, in 2006¹.

Career Beginnings

After graduation, Nivin worked as a software engineer at Infosys in Bangalore from 2006 to 2008. However, he resigned and also returned home following his father’s death¹. His passion for acting. Led him to audition for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial debut, Malarvaadi Arts Club (2010), where he was also cast in one of the main roles¹. This marked the beginning of his acting career.

Breakthrough and Rise to Fame

Nivin’s breakthrough came with the romantic film Thattathin Marayathu (2012), also directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. The film was a massive success and established him as a leading actor in Malayalam cinema¹. He continued to gain popularity with roles in films like Neram (2013).
