Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a member of parliament for Assin Central, has been urged by private attorney Maurice Ampaw to put his bid for the presidency on hold.
He claimed that becoming president requires a divine calling, which the independent lawmaker clearly does not have.

If one is not called or born with such talent, becoming president will be challenging, according to Ampaw, who believes that the presidency is about a divine calling.
“I’m telling Kennedy Agyapong that; you weren’t born to become president. You’re aware that you were not given a presidential talent so why are you forcing yourself to become a president? Kennedy Agyapong you are a fighter.
“God told David that he can’t build the church because his hands are full of blood (filth),” he said.
He continued by saying that politics is a game rife with evil, lies, and deception, and that if he had entered sooner, he believes he would already be dead.
Kennedy Agyapong has disclosed that viewing a video of Prophet Amoako Attah’s prophecy in March 2022 inspired him to enter the presidential race.
Kennedy Agyapong has a special assignment from God that goes beyond his role as a member of parliament, according to prophet Francis Amoako Attah, the founder of Parliament Chapel International.
“Nobody can stop Hon Kennedy Agyapong from his vision to become a president of Ghana. I saw in the realms of the spirit that the star of God picked Hon Kennedy Agyapong.
“Many people love him from their heart but they are not professing it to the general public. It will start gradually and all of a sudden, all the youth in the Country will Support Kennedy Agyapong,” he said.

In 2022, Mr. Agyapong revealed his desire to run for president on the NPP’s slate, claiming he would be the best choice for the position in the subsequent general elections.
In a previous speech to his American supporters, Agyapong emphasized that he was more of a leader than a politician, explaining that while politicians are more concerned with the next election, leaders are more concerned with the development of the country as a whole.
