The Telegraph reports that Tottenham Hotspur will part ways with head coach Antonio Conte this week.
Following the veteran manager’s public criticism of his team over the weekend, it is rumored that Spurs will approve the Italian’s departure within the next few days.
On Saturday, the Lillywhites let a 3-1 lead slip against Southampton, who are currently last in the Premier League, and were forced to settle for a 3-3 draw thanks to a last-second James Ward-Prowse penalty.
Antonio Conte expressed his frustration with his team after the final whistle, saying that they don’t want to play under pressure.
“They are used to it here, they are used to it. They don’t play for something important,” Antonio Conte said.

“They don’t want to play under pressure, they don’t want to play under stress. It is easy in this way. Tottenham’s story is this. 20 years there is the owner and they never won something but why? The fault is only for the club or for every manager that stay here?
“I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench. You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and to protect the other situation in every moment.”

Since Conte returned to Italy, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is now debating what to do next. The aforementioned report continues, however, by asserting that the aftermath of the former Chelsea manager’s contentious outburst, the situation in N17 is essentially irretrievable.
After that, Ryan Mason will probably be appointed interim leader until the end of the current campaign. When Jose Mourinho was temporarily relieved of his managerial duties during the 2020–21 season, Mason briefly took over.
