Morgan began playing soccer at a young age and quickly stood out for her speed, agility, and goal-scoring ability. She played for various youth clubs and eventually joined the University of California, Berkeley, where she continued to excel. Morgan gained national attention during the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
