Matija Sarkic was a professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was born on 23 July 1997 in Grimsby, England, to an English mother and a Montenegrin father. He also chose to play international football for Montenegro and had eight caps for the national team. Sarkic began his career at Belgian side Anderlecht and moved to Aston Villa in 2015. He also had loan spells at clubs like Wigan Athletic, Havant & Waterlooville, Livingston, and others. Also In 2020, Sarkic signed with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
During his time there, he had loan spells at Shrewsbury Town, Birmingham City (where he was voted Player of the Season), and Stoke City. In 2023, Sarkic joined EFL Championship club Millwall, becoming their first-choice goalkeeper. His performances contributed significantly to the team’s defensive stability.
