Oscars 2023 Winners – The 95th Academy Awards ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, was a night of historic triumphs.
On Sunday, the action-comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once and the German-language war epic All Quiet on the Western Front quickly established themselves as the two leading contenders for the most Oscar nominations.
With seven victories in some of the most important categories, including best picture, best director, best original screenplay, and three acting categories, the latter film ended up winning the most accolades.
Erich Maria Remarque’s anti-war novel from 1929, All Quiet on the Western Front, was adapted, and it still managed to win four awards, including the best international feature film prize.
A record number of Asian artists were nominated for acting awards at the Oscars this year, and the ceremony on Sunday delivered by crowning 60-year-old screen legend Michelle Yeoh as the first Asian best actress.
Ke Huy Quan, a former child star and refugee born in Vietnam, who co-starred with her in Everything Everywhere All at Once, also won the award for best supporting actor.
With its first nomination and victory in the best song category for the hip-hop anthem “Naatu Naatu” from the movie RRR, India also made music history.
