    Kim Mulkey hails from Santa Ana, California, but spent her formative years in Tickfaw, Louisiana.     At Louisiana Tech University, Mulkey made her mark as an All-American point guard. She secured two national championships as a player: the AIAW title in 1981 and the inaugural NCAA title in 1982.

    She began as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech in 1985 and later served as the associate head coach.

        • As the head coach, she led the Baylor Lady Bears to NCAA championships in 2005, 2012, and also 2019.
